Conversations with C.
Jan. 25th, 2008 09:07 pmWhen the spouse is not an avid reader.
*May takes newly purchased book (with pictures in it) to bed to read*
M: *opens book*
C: *leans over to looks at pics*
.....
.....
.....
C: *waits for page to turn*
.....
.....
C: "Are you actually reading it?"
M: "It's a book, what do you think?"
--------------------------------------
Learning to pronouce Danish
C: *is shopping online for new kitchen* "I like this knife."
M: "Which knife?"
C: "The Rowa (Raadvaad)"
M: "It's Råådwad"
C: "Rooiwa"
M: "Råådwad"
C: "ROOWA"
M: "Råådwad"
C: "Roowa, roooiwa, roowa, row- I can't say it."
M: "I noticed."
--------------------------------------
Also, C still manages to put his foot in it and hasn't yet learned NOT to try and save his blunders. Thus, somehow during the Christmas Lunch, he managed to compare my aunt's wine consumption to that of the petrol consumption of a large truck. To make things even worse, he tried to save it by explaining sizes...that I, for example was a car-trailer, whereas my aunt.... *at this point my cousin's fiancee was laughing so hard, I was worried he might pee in his pants*
