Nov. 4th, 2008 11:21 pmToday was a long day, despite sleeping late. Got up at 9:00, took Lia out for a 30 minute morning romp, then we left for my half yearly check-up in Holstebro:
Good news:
- The attack I thought I had end of July was most likely just a flare up and not the result of any new spinal damage.
- I'm doing fine.
- My MS nurse showed me another way of measuring out injection sites, so that I now have two areas of untouched muscle tissue to inject into and can avoid the old, painful sites for a bit longer. She also suggested that I get a nurse out to inject me in the butt to give my thighs a rest, but I prefer to keep my butt to myself for as long as possible. :p
Making me feel weird news:
MS nurse after measuring my blood pressure: "Well, you certainly aren't suffering from high blood pressure, but it's okay 100/69."
Me: That's still within the normal range isn't it?
MS nurse gives me a pointed look: "It's low."
MS nurse: Let me suggest you this cocktail of drugs that you can take to lessen the post-injection side-effects.
Drug cocktail? Why do those words immediately bring a seedy little back room with heroin shooting and sniffing addicts to mind? Hello, my name is May and I take drug cocktails!
We arrived back at 13:00 to a bunch of new bead shop orders, so the rest of the afternoon was spent trying to pack them all before the post office closed. I didn't make it. Still have two left.
Went to the post office and then to the garbage sorting site where we got rid of the old kitchen cabinets and kitchen floor boards, then came home to send shipping confirmation mails, hang up the laundry and work on the commission. The customer needs it for a Christianing on Saturday and I want to send it to her tomorrow, so that she'll have time to wrap it and frame it if she choses to. Worked until 23:00 and made pretty good progress this evening, I'm probably 2/3 done with the shading, but I need to get up early tomorrow to finish it up.
