This and that
Feb. 12th, 2009 10:23 pmI love my new, small bathtub! I can sit/lie comfortably without having to stretch my legs and toes to prevent myself from going under, which means that I can turn off the lights, find a comfy position and sleep: A semi-sensory deprivation tank! Well, actually the idea was to lie in the dark and think up a serious rewrite for TDH, but even the best made plans...

Called the "tree people" today about planting a living fence around the property, plus a couple of birch grooves. Had a really good impression of the guy I talked to, friendly, professional and he seemed to know exactly what I wanted. He also had plenty of experience dealing with the government (his company deals with 30% of the living fence planting here) and could tell me, which projects were more likely to be approved, how to get 60% cost coverage instead of 40%, and how to incorporate the costs of establishing the grooves into the application we'll be sending to the government. Best part of it is that their firm will handle the application process for us, and take care of the maintenence for the next 3 years, which will be one thing less to worry about.
I'm getting very excited about the whole project. Hopefully in 5-6 years time, our open, bare plot of land will have turned into a small, sheltered haven. :)
