Phew, there really is a huge difference between training an intensive, high-drive dog like my first dog, Aqui, and then Lia.

I know, I know, Lia is high-drive compared to your average dog. She'll come at full speed, slam into a down, jump into a sit, she is eager to learn new things and intensely focused on me, and anyone who has visited us will have noticed how she's asking for action! Now! Please!

But...she doesn't have the work-ethics, stubbornness and eagerness that Aqui had. Aqui would work on a problem until.it.was.solved. Period. Lia will give it a try, but if she finds it too difficult, she'll give up, sit down and wait for help. Also Lia gets mentally tired, so training has to be done in regular short, sweet, dog training sessions, whereas Aqui would stay focused and could go on and on.

I guess you cannot have it all. The advantage with Lia is that she's easier to handle and less likely to crawl the walls than Aqui (yes, she was worse than Lia). The disadvange is me being used to a dog that I could put more training pressure on. Aqui at the age Lia has now could do much more, and better and faster, but of course she was also less obedient and more likely to question my every command outside of a training situation.

And yeah, obviously the one who needs to change here is me. :p

After cutting down on the pain killers last week and consequently feeling like I'd been run over by a truck, I decided not to repeat that particular experiment. So, took a "cocktail" right after taking my injection last night and another one right after waking up. This is the first time I've done two cocktails, usually I do one and then maybe take a couple of panadols in the morning.

The difference between today and last Monday? Huge. Slept like a baby, woke up with a headache, but that went away with the second round of painkillers, and otherwise I've only felt a bit cold. Even exercised the dog and did some gardening for 2 hours without being punished for it.
