This and that...

Motivation is at an all time low after my lazy weekend, so I'm using the old kitchen timer trick. Housework? Ugh! So I set the timer for 30 minutes twice a day. The same with drawing and painting. 10 minutes at a time. Even spineless, non-motivated artists like myself can do 10 minutes once an hour - and so things get done anyway. The trick is to either not think at all or to think only about the end result. Somehow it's much easier to commit to 2 x 30 minutes of housework in a 24 hour day than it is to cleaning the kitchen, doing laundry and washing the floor.

Strange rottweiler-ish dog was pottering about the courtyard and garden today. I saw him before Lia, got her in the house and then proceeded to try and get hold of "rottweiler" and see where he belonged. Found him by the greenhouse. Of course he went "YIKES!" and took off as soon as I spoke to him and he spotted me, and no amount of sweet-talk or treats could make him change his mind. I'm clearly dangerous and not to be trusted! And no, didn't enter my mind for one second that he could be dangerous. :p

Did manage to get a good look at him: boy, all black, around 3-5 years old and maybe a bit smaller than your average rottweiler male (probably a mix), well fed, nice black expensive looking leather collar. I'm not 100% sure this is not the neighbour's dog. I never got a really good look at him, but I do remember the neighbour dog as being purebred and quite large, plus he's only 1-2 years old. Of course, we all know what my memory is like, so I'll be spying on the neighbour and his dog when they are out to double-check.

I am of course not happy about the visit. Lia has been out of heat for some days and I've been feeding her cholorphyll tablets and haven't taken her off the property for the duration of her heat, but I'm not sure if his visit was random or not. Second of all there's there matter of male dogs urinating on trees and bushes, dog poop in non poop designated areas, and the outdoor cats. Bold was around today while the dog was here, but luckily he stayed at a safe, high distance and did not take his eyes of the dog for one second.

EDIT: Spied. Still not sure. Couldn't get a good look at neighbour dog, but he did seem to have some brown markings which I can't remember the dog today having.
