May. 26th, 2005 08:24 amHaven't been getting enough sleep these past nights. Yesterday I was barely conscious when I hit the pillow around midnight, slept 4 1/2 hours, then woke because I was overheating. Stumbled up to open the door* to the terrace and sat in front of it for a while before going back to bed again. Of course a healthy bout of fresh air results in hayfever, so 30 mins later I had to get up and search for a Zyrtec and then wait for it to start working. Fell asleep around 6:00, then woke up again around 6:50 when C came to say goodbye**. Got up at 7:45 when the garbage men came to pick up the trash. I'm really an 8 hour sleep a night person - and it doesn't count when these 8 hours are regularly interrupted. Unfortunately I'm not an afternoon napping person and I'm not good at going to bed early. C always cracks up when I announce a bedtime before 23:00.
So after entertaining you with this tale of sleepless nights (wouldn't know from reading my journal that I'm actually a writer eh?), I'll leave you to go and fix breakfast. I really feel like fried eggs, pancakes, - the whole lot, but it's a bit too much to cook for just me, so I'll probably settle for tea and a piece of bread with cheese.
*window was already open
**this is a strange thing I have, which probably stems from having to get up by myself at quite a young age. If C leaves without saying goodbye, I'll feel lost and abandoned the whole day.
