The mushroom is crying
May. 26th, 2005 04:24 pmHe's the oldest child of the Indian couple living below us. He must be around six. I went down to check on him, and there he was with his little schoolbag and bright orange traffic vest. He doesn't know where his mother is and is locked out of the apartment. He'd rather not come up (good kid not to follow strangers). I told him to ring the bell if he changed his mind and we could write a note to his mother to let her know where he is. It's a safe neighbourhoood, so I'm not worried about leaving him there. From what I can hear, the Italians went to check on him after me, and now I think I heard his mother coming home. She probably popped round to the grocers. :)
Oh, and C calls him the mushroom because of his haircut, which looks exactly like a mushroom hat.
