Yesterday at the book store I saw a book with the same cover as a book I have at home. "Murder in LaMut" by R. Feist and J. Rosenberg. I looked it up; the artwork in question seems to have been made especially for "Murder in LaMut" by Geoff Taylor.

Of course my memory is pathetic, so I cannot remember the publisher, title or author of this other book. I was convinced that the author was a Steve Nicholis, but since he doesn't appear in Amazon or Google, I most likely remembered wrongly.

It feels like cheat, though. I usually assume that the person on the cover is supposed to represent a character from the book, which is why I get annoyed to see the same cover on two different books (excluded is known paintings used as book covers, such as works by Henri Toulous Lautrec or Klimt or Manet...well, you get the point). This is what goes on in my mind: Oh, look there's a hardcover version of the Feist book, it sure is a lot thicker than the one I have at home, wait, that's not the Feist book, it's an entirely different book by someone else! Well, well...what do you know? The character in this book is the identical twin brother of the character in the Feist book. Hey! He's even in the exact same place as his unknown twin! *bwahahahaha*.

Did I pick up the book? No, I did not. Apart from the annoyance factor, it's going to look darned strange in my book shelf next to the Feist book.

And as you can see, since I can get so annoyed over a book cover, I must lead a very dull life indeed. *grin*
