Small artistic rant
Feb. 12th, 2004 05:05 pmThis goes for both writing and painting. Someone posts a piece for review. When told what needs to be worked with this person gets all defensive and says: "But I meant it to be like that! This is not...blablabla. This is....blablabla. The purpose of this piece was....blablabla...therefore blablabla."
My take: If you have to explain your piece to each and every person that sees it; then you haven't achieved what you were aiming for. Do not post in a workshop if you don't want help or if you don't want to listen to other people's opinion.
End of rant.
*note I am not talking about any specific person here. Just a phenomenon that I see a lot.
