May speaks French.
Mar. 6th, 2006 09:23 am*phone rings, a quick glance confirms it's a Cyprus number. May doesn't pick up. Phone continues to ring. May is forced to pick up*
C's grandma: frenchfrenchfrench-grandma-frenchfrench.
May: Ah grandma! Ca va?
Grandma: frenchfrenchfrench Ca va?
May: Bien, merci!
Grandma: frenchfrenchfrench-C-a la maison?
May: Oui. Il est la. *thinks desperately about what "just a minute" might be in French*
Grandma: frenchfrenchfrenchfrench
May: oui, oui, oui *RUNS to give C the phone, not knowing what she's confirming*
C takes phone. *May collapses on the couch, desperately wishing that someone would tell Grandma that she doesn't speak French. Of course now it might be too late, as Grandma has already defended May's superb French skills to her croonies and the rest of the older Cyprus generation, who rightfully doubt that the skills are there.*
Other than that. We shovelled snow yesterday. I felt really GOOD and invigorated afterward. C didn't find anything pleasurable about the experience - not even the snowball I hurled at his butt. *sigh* Today the fun is over, I'm aching. Back is reasonably okay, but my arms are convinced they are going to fall off. It's snowing again today, but just a little.
