Snow!

Loud noise woke us up around 4-5am this morning, so we knew it had been snowing even before getting up. It's still snowing and there's lots of it! Not as much as last month, perhaps "just" 20 cm or so. Jonesy thinks it's a ball. I have his pawprints all over the window.

Medicine delivery day, so I had to get up early. The postman was new and very nice and chatty. When he saw what he was delivering, he just said "Ah, health stuff.". No judgement passed, no pity, no change in attitude. I was really impressed and quite touched by that.

I have just one huge order to pack so far today, so I'm hoping to do some commission work, writing and reviewing. Also, the ants have broken the peace treaty. Well, to be fair, I don't know if it's the same colony as last year. These ones are coming in the living room. So it's back to killing the scouts and making the place a wasteland with nothing worth coming for - for an ant, that is. It worked fine last year with a minimum of casualties, so let's hope it'll be the same this year. I wish I could put up small ant-signs on the outer wall of the apartment: "This is ze point of no return!"

I've heard that basil works as a deterrent. Get a basil plant and put it at their point of entry. They find the smell offensive. :-)

Hmmm I'm not sure the basil is working, I'll leave it there for some time, though. Perhaps these ants have a cold. :)
