Upping the stakes...

I know, I know...writer's angst is not a thing to be meddled with, especially when we're meddling in the more-anxiety direction, but if your first book doesn't sell well, then it's apparently extremely difficult to get a second book contract. So it's a one shot deal? Either you make it or you're doomed? I am starting to fear, not my first novel rejection, but my first acceptance. I'm not sure I could stand the pressure.
