- I got taken aside and held up in the passport control in Schiphol airport because my passport looked "bad quality".
- The estate agent for the farm house assured us that the roof does not need changing (although the builder's report said it did) - and not only that, he also insisted that it was completely harmless to take down the asbestos roof ourself, because "lots of people have worked with asbestos and never gotten sick of it".
- Another estate agent, C, and I got lost on one property. We were virtually trekking through wilderness, but C saved us, by pinpointing our location using the noise from the road to orient himself. When we got back to the car, I noticed my pants were covered in ticks. *hates ticks*

- While we were there, Bjarne Riis admitted to being doped when he won Tour de France. I wondered what would happen with his plaque of honor embedded in the town centre of Herning.
