M: Would you say "A narrowed his eyes" or "A's eyes narrowed"?
C: I wouldn't. What's that?
M: *narrows eyes for C to see*
C: I'd say "A closed his eyes 80%".
M: That's not very poetic.
C: A closed his eyes 80%, which meant they were 20% open. Now if A had closed his eyes 60%, how many percent...? *cracks up*
M: *shakes head*

C is no help at all when it comes to writing. My brain must have had a melt down. I'm not even sure you can say "A narrowed his eyes" and then on top of that I ask C.

G says that, in general, he would say A narrowed his eyes.

It does seem more. .. direct.

Yes, my first thought was to say A's eyes narrowed, but I am trying to tighten my POV, so that's why I thought of A narrowed his eyes, but then I became unsure if it was possible to say it like that. I'll be going with A narrowed his eyes, then. Thanks to both of you for helping me out here. :)
