Yesterday my mother told me that the owner of the company where I worked for one week when I was fourteen or fifteen during "school working week" died suddenly, only 56 years old.

While I was there, I made a design. They (husband and wife team) asked if they could use it and promised me pay/compensation for it. I got nothing, they used the design on their entire new summer collection. My friends were wearing my design, I couldn't afford it. No credit, no money, just the design rubbed in my face every time I went to town and saw it in the shop windows.

My mother is all full of sympathy for the wife and family, because we "know" them. I think it's a shame that he passed away so young, but on an emotional level, I'm still can't feel anything but anger and resentment for what they did. I'm just not that nice a person.

Well it's a stinky thing to do. It's sad that he died so young, but I understand where you're coming from, too. *snugs*

No reason you should feel all forgiving just because he's dead, even though, as you said, it's a shame. It's rotten to rip off the artist production of anyone, especially someone as young as your were.

It's so nice to hear this from someone else. Thanks.
