Neighbour is screaming again: "waaaaaIIIIIIIIIII ARRRRRRRHHHHH". This time I think she kicked something as well (hopefully not the cat!). It's not too bad; only the second blood curdling yell today. Still, I'll be happy the day we can move out of here.

Went to town yesterday, but the shop didn't have the oil pastel tools I was looking for. The girl who worked there suggested that I tried a hobby shop. Surrounded by water colours, oils, pastels, canvasses, brushes, spatulas and what not, I wondered if I wasn't IN a hobby shop? Still, who am I to argue with someones sale's methods?

Of course now the options are to find a "hobby shop", to order online, or to make the tools myself. I'm leaning towards the last option. I can probably work something out with a cotton bud and some cello tape.

OH! Click on the link below to see this article and photo about a land/mountain slide in Norway. The two boulders landed on each side of the house without damaging it (squashed the garage, though). That's just amazing. The owner lives in a retirement home during winter, but uses the house in summer.

unfortunately, those really good shops with artists' tools are disappearing everywhere as the Do-It-Yourself malls offer similar things cheaper... There was a very traditional but very nice one in Basel, 'Rebetez', very big and with everything any kind of artist could think of. As far as I know, it was taken over by some stationery shop and is now nothing but a small department of Papyrus Basel (http://www.papyrus.ch) which has nothing to do with art... There's another one with more 'hobby' stuff, which still exists: Presser Basel (http://www.preba.ch), but their webpage is the worst thinkable. They have three floors of 'hobby stuff'...

Thanks for the links...you're right; that is one of the worst web pages I've ever seen. Also I thought I had some internet competition with their glass beads, but the page isn't opening. Nothing to worry about there then.

No, they are definitely no competition!! :) I pass by that shop very often but haven't entered it for 10 years at least. Next time, I might spy on their beads and send you some industrial espionage pictures...

lol...I can already hear the theme melody from James Bond!

Actually "real" store are rarely competition for us. They have to pay rent for the store, staff, equipment etc. and are usually significantly more expensive than we are.
