Nov. 13th, 2006 12:15 pmWith just a teensy bit of pushing from
pjthompson I placed an amazon.com order. Books of course. I got everything on my wish-list except Death and the Penguin by Andrey Kurkov and Magic Bites by
iagor. Both because of availability, logistics and shipping fees. BUT I'll be back with a vengeance.
The weekend was quiet. I procrastinated with my injection until Friday night, which was a bad, bad idea, because it meant being sick on a Saturday. Also my cold seemed to realise that it had left out the stuffy nose thing, so stuffy nose thing is now a reality. I hate these longwinded colds. Anyway, I spent the weekend sleeping, eating and watching DVDs. We saw V for Vendetta (loved it), Keeping Mum (okay, but ending was very silly) and The 40-year old virgin (okay, but both C and I found much of the dialogue unbelievable considering the character uttering it. I suspect it was supposed to be funny and that it's a cultural thing - and no, it wasn't the "How do I know you're gay" ones, those were good!)
Started out active this morning, got up at 7:00, started the laundry, started the dishwasher, finished checking a new delivery, answered E-mails, took some business related phone-calls, tidied office.
Felix's tail isn't getting better, so he's going for another check-up today. And speaking of kitties. Yes, we play and cuddle with our cats, they get quality food, they have toys and scratching boards, if they're sick we take them to the vet, but they are not our children, and I get really annoyed when someone says that. I've seen people treat their pets as babies, and I find it offensive to be put in the same category. The cats are cats. When we get a dog, she'll be just that, a d-o-g. None of our pets are substitutes for a child. If we wanted a child, we would get one.
