Nov. 16th, 2006 03:25 pmJust came back from the dermatologist. Good news: Lots of new hair sprouting out. Bad news: Hair looks weird. Good news: Condition might clear up by itself. Bad news: Just in case I need to have hair samples taken, and I'm not allowed to wash my hair for 5 days. Yup, f-i-v-e.

Date: 2006-11-16 02:38 pm (UTC)I'm using a special shampoo called Physiogel, you can buy it at the pharmacy. It costs almost 18 CHF for a bottle. It's just a very mild shampoo for people who have problems with their hair.
I'm also using a spray called Neocapil, it helps to prevent hormonal hairloss (which is not what I have, but which is what many people have), and it stimulates new hair growth. I don't know if you can buy it in the pharmacy or if you need a precription, though.
Are you eating enough iron-rich food? Lack of iron can lead to hair loss. Dried fruits are usually good iron sources, you don't have to eat liver and spinach. :)

Date: 2006-11-16 04:28 pm (UTC)I did 5-6 days in a row while I had the lumbar puncture and was hospitalized in 2003. That was during the hottest summer ever measured here in Switzerland and it's not something I'm keen to repeat. At least the weather is cooler now.
