May. 28th, 2007 06:39 pmI'm back! (in case someone noticed I was gone)
Went to Denmark to look at future homes. Looked at nine houses within three days. Fell in love with one - an old school house from 1925 with hiiiigh ceilings (up to 4 metres), stately stair cases, perfect space for the shop and a lovely (if somewhat messy) garden. Two stories, 263 square metres all in all with 4280 square metres garden and a tiny 9 square metres cellar. It needs some fixing and I'll be calling the agent to ask for an official condition report and once it has been made, we'll be sending a carpenter/house building aquaintance out to look at it. Also need to check the internet connection, as it's in the middle of no-where - actually it's on a side-road to the road in the middle of no-where. Please keep your fingers crossed that the report doesn't have any nasty surprises. I really want this house. It must be mine. MINE!
Second option house (which was more C's favourite) is a cute farm house that will also need some fixing.
Then there are three maybes, as in they are not exactly what we are looking for, for some reason or another, but they'll do if push comes to shove.
And finally four houses that didn't suit us at all.
---------------------------
It was the first time Murphy and Felix were alone home for more than 36 hours. Murphy had some scratches around his ear, so I guess Felix finally lost his temper with the little twit. Also, Murp apparently refused to talk to the STRANGER (cat sitter) and now thinks it's our DUTY to catch up on four days of cuddles.
---------------------------
And we ate a lot - and stayed the last evening at Park Hotel in Vejle before taking the plane back to Switzerland *waves to

Date: 2007-05-29 04:22 pm (UTC)Loke was indeed a wonderful dog. What he didn't win was simply just not worth winning. Dad's plan is to get a dog after his lines after Pascal.
(It's true there was a bit of a falling out with the Susmik crew, though. I can't remember what it was about but I can imagine it was some differences of opinion on breeding programs or some such. Personally I've only met the Susmiks once, so I wouldn't know. I don't know if they ever made up again or anything.)
I missed you muchly!

Date: 2007-05-29 01:04 am (UTC)How fun it is house-hunting - but even if you don't get the one you fall in love with, remember - well, if you can tolerate advice from someone who had to deal with a spouse who didn't get the house he wanted most - it's not the house you buy that matters most: it's the home you make in the house you get. ::pause:: I gotta find somebody to exorcise this pollyanna . . .
