Short update
- we moved
- house is in need of some serious modernisation - we've started with the bedroom and I've found something I HATE. To change electrical plugs. Hates!
- seller of the house is perhaps the biggest human being I've ever seen
- yes, I now have two extra kitties, typical black-white farm ones. To be fair, none of them are the ones (7 of them!) I saw around here last time. Instead it's a female and her 8-10 week old kitten. Seller offered to shoot them for us if we didn't want them hanging around. Kitties are very friendly and seem to know they are supposed to stay outside. They are also hungry. Constantly. Oh the whine, the patheticness, the pitifulness - the absolute starvation of little kitties.
- C's stay permit that was in process for 15 weeks with no results have been processed directly in Denmark. Process time? A matter of hours!
- we bought a car and a garden tractor
- I now know how to operate a woodstove
- We sort of have 4 neighbours, an elderly man on one farm, his son on another farm, a janitor with his kindergarten teacher wife and their five (!) children...and then there's our closest neighbour who according to both farmer's son and seller is "the one who doesn't want to talk to anyone"

What happened to the seven kitties? Did the king-sized man take a gun to them, too? If so I am not surprised the nearest neighbor didn't want to speak to him. That person might be a perfectly nice cat lover.

Yeah, renovations are the pits. I don't think I would like to do electrical plugs, either.

Of the seven kitties, the mother and kittens, at least (mother is a Norwegian Forest Cat) ended up with someone in the next village. I don't know what happened to the father. On the farms, it is quite normal to shoot unwanted cats, instead of spending the money on neutering and spaying. I think he was waiting for some city-slicker shock reaction, but I grew up in the country and while I don't approve of it, it did not come as a surprise. I'll be taking both of these cats to the vet for a spay and neuter as soon as the little guy is old enough (vets here do not neuter kittens before they are at least 6 months old) - probably I'll take the mom sooner.

I don't know about cats, but I know the nearest neighbour has a huge rottweiler. The dog also keeps to himself, though.

And yes about the renovations, I keep having to picture the end result in my mind to keep motivated.

Naah, I kept cool. I grew up in the country, so while I don't approve, I know it's common practise here because the farmers don't want to spend money on spaying and neutering - in fact, I don't even think the idea has ever entered their mind as anything else than a joke. Our new farm cats will be visitng the vet, though. Perhaps I can set a good example - or be the laughing stock of the community.

Oh, I'm glad the move went well. I can wait for pictures since I'm on vacation and won't be home until next week. But you'd better not wait too long after that to post pics!
