Nov. 30th, 2007 04:37 pmTook Lilith and Frasier for their spay and neuter today. Lilith has been awake for some hours, while Frasier just came round. Both are still quite groggy and have to stay inside until tomorrow afternoon.
They were good kitties and have caused no trouble at all. Not too keen on having to stay in the basement for some hours before the vet visit, but sweet about it. Went into the carriers with just a little gentle nudging, took the car-ride in reasonable stride, were cuddly when waking up after surgery, and Lilith yet again proved herself to be a wonderful mother.
She comes down hard on adolescent pranks and the tiniest sign of disrespect, but the first thing she did, when she was awake enough to crawl/push herself from one place to another, was to check on Frasier - and now that he is awake and not feeling too frisky, she's comforting him, grooming and cuddling him. I get all butter-hearted watching them. Unfortunately she seems a little too interested in her own surgery wound, so she's wearing a collar, which doesn't seem to bother her too much, though.
