Dec. 19th, 2007 06:59 pmMom: Do you have a christmas tree?
May: No, we have a Murphy.
------------------------------------
This week has been productive. C and HJ made good progress on the upstairs bathroom Monday, yesterday we went to Ã…rhus to exchange a broken cupboard door at Ikea and bought some more bathroom furniture, plus a footstool for me for the kitchen. We also bought Christmas presents and presents for the annual family present-grabbing dice game. My mother has of course long since revealed our presents, PLUS what she bought for the game. She absolutely cannot keep a present-secret. It just gnaws and eats at her until everything has been blurted out - in detail.
Today we got some work done on the shop and set the wheels in motion for yet another round of shop-updates. I also ordered our new kitchen. Oh...and I ate too much chocolate. 4 pieces of the overly sweet Danish "ice-chocolate"..urgh. I mean, one piece is enough to give me sugar shock, I don't know what on earth I was thinking of. Time for crisps maybe? Or dinner... *eyes masterchef C*

Date: 2007-12-19 06:56 pm (UTC)We're driving home. Dad pulls into the leftmost lane of a particular intersection. We wait. Traffic in the three lanes on the right moves.
We don't.
I say, "I thought this only happened to me."
Mom says, "Do you remember your maiden name?"

Date: 2007-12-20 08:06 am (UTC)Yeah...apart from the "pronto", the kitchen ordering was more or less that. :)
It won't arrive until February, which gives us time to strip down the old kitchen and prepare for the new one. I'll send photos when we're done. For a sneak peek, there the type of kitchen we've ordered. We'll have different floors, walls and table tops, plus our kitchen cabinets won't be so neatly aligned top to bottom, as we had to compromise for practicality: http://www.designa.dk/koekken/basic/provence.php
