Apr. 14th, 2008 09:33 amI have long had the nagging feeling that TDH should be, at least partially, rewritten. More than I've already done. I'm very satisfied with parts of it, but it has some problems:
1. That this was my first novel. It means that the writing and the quality of the writing in there is not consistent. I didn't plan the plot, characters or anything in advance. I began writing with some kind of vague idea of "the end" and as a result the novel doesn't have a sound structure and the ending is blah.
2. While there are some original ideas in there, these are minor and the book as a whole is cliché.
3. Last night, right before falling asleep, I *did* actually get a semi-original idea, which ought to be worked into the book.
4. I still believe the planned trilogy is sound, but TDH right now isn't.
I'm not going to work on it now, still too busy and besides when I find the time to write, Elpida or Arvingen should be my first priority.
