Kitten has arrived! And we've just settled on a name: Orlando.
We had narrowed it down to two choices. Orlando and Toulouse. Both of us preferred Toulouse, but when he arrived and we got a better look at him, we realised he's not a Toulouse.

All has gone as expected. Murphy hates him, but limits himself to hissing, growling and otherwise avoiding the new ball of fluff as much as possible. Kitten is unfazed.

Lia is a sweetie. Careful and gentle, but kitten has never seen a dog before and is not impressed. After Lia's first tentative attempts of sniffing him were rewarded with solid, painful whacks, she's opted to keep a security distance of 1-3 metres and is trying to communicate with him with calming, non-threatening dog body language, which he of course doesn't understand, although he probably appreciates her moving slowly around him and keeping her distance. :)

The breeder has offered us Orlando's sister at a reduced price. It is tempting. Very tempting. Especially since she and I took to each other at first sight, and with me who doesn't want three indoor cats, me who prefers male cats, and the kitten who usually wasn't the first of the litter to approach strangers. Everyone noticed it and the breeder, who knew we were looking just for a male cat, remarked "You know, sometimes the cat picks you and not the other way round."

C is no help. According to him, there's always room for another cat.

How can you possibly say no? Look at that poor lost, lonely little face. All forlone without her brother to play with, all by herself, wondering what she had done to be left behind by the person she wanted.

You do know Orlando probably misses his sister? He would settle in better with her by his side. Murphy woudl also probably feel less annoyed as the kittens would play together and not agravate him. And she does have the most adorable colouring, sort of a cross between Murphy and Orlando. Now wouldn't that look just priceless in a photo?

And I must point out that you did have three cats in an apartment much smaller than your house. What is more, two kittens together are ideal as they will wear each other out. One will get into mischief and start tormenting Murphy or Lia.

She looks so sad and lost without her chosen human. This one will be the lap cat, who will love you to death forever. How can you resist a moment longer?
