It's all a matter of perception!
Feb. 28th, 2009 01:57 pmIn Denmark we drink water from the underground. The water C and I are drinking was dated recently and it is 2500 years old! I think this is incredibly cool. The water that comes out of our taps fell as rain in this area right about the time where the bronze age ended and the iron age started!
C's reaction on the other hand? "Ew, we're drinking old water".
Speaking of the bronze and iron age. We are applying for planting permission on our land and have been informed by the museum that there are two gravehills here that were overplowed in 1950 and which are most likely part of an acient road trace. One grave is approximately right below where we buried Felix, the other is in the field, close to the stable and our kitchen garden. I'm most likely not related to the deceased, but my father's family is from this area, not too far away from here, and I like the idea that it might be my acestors lying there. I'm debating whether to tell my family. My father would find the information interesting, my mother would be spooked. :p

I guess if you lived in a house like that, no burial grounds will rattle you.
