*sigh* our car fits me like two left shoes. Because I'm short, I need to push the seat forward, but even in the maximum forward position, I have to stretch to press down the clutch. And because I need to lift the seat for a good view through the front window, my knees are jammed against the dashboard.

So C's looking for a car for me, I think he'd like me to take an interest in the choice of cars, and I'm doing my best, but I have to admit that I find comparing cars as exciting as watching paint dry.

Don't go for anything Russian. They are under the impression everyone has size 'enormous' feet. My father had one once and I could only drive it with a six inch wedge under my heel.

As for what you should be looking for, let him do all the looking under the hood and crawling underneath, etc, and endless comparing stats on performance. That is a boy thing and they are good at it.

When he has picked out a few possibilities, go sit in them and see if they fit you comfortably. Also, don't let him pick anything silver, or silver with a gold sheen, as this color is more difficult for other drivers to see. I had one and I can swear to this. People also say that red cars are more likely to get into accidents. Perhaps choose anything but those two. This is a girl thing.

I'm not sure I know any Russian cars. We're looking at French and Japanese cars mainly: Peugeot, Citroen and Toyota.
