Jun. 21st, 2004 01:29 pmMy mother is stressing me - I really wish she wouldn't. It started already 14 days ago: "How much have you packed?" "WHAT not more than that!" and just now "You're moving NEXT week!". Theoretically yes, we're moving on the third, she would like that everything would be packed two weeks ago. Unfortunately, we still need to shower, dress and eat - and I am not closing the bead shop for the move, which means that the beads and computers will have to be packed last minute - and be the first thing that I unpack. I don't know why mothers still have the capability of stressing their adult children. I've moved more than 10 times before, I know what I'm doing. Ten years ago, this sort of incident would have made me all stubborn and I would do everything last minute just to show her...lol. Now it just annoys me. I do things my way and that's that.
Apart from speaking to my parents, I've been very active today. Went for a walk this morning - it was lovely, nice and warm, but not too warm. I could smell coffee walking past the small local restaurants, and as I walked over a bridge I could hear the birds and a single cuckoo from the depths of the forest below. I painted the kitchen some more, have done three loads of laundry and have packed a bit.

I know what you mean

"Tell me it wasn't books."
"It was books."
Perky voice, another call. "What colors are you going to paint the rooms?"
Yet another call. "Any news?"
Yet another call, with fretting tone of voice. "You don't know what the inside of the dishwasher looks like?"
Still yet another. "When do you get the key?"
"Any news?"
"Your father wants to know if you are going to rent a truck to move the furniture."
She is so excited. :)

Date: 2004-06-28 11:04 am (UTC)My parents and aunt and uncle (from Malaysia) will be visiting in less than three weeks. So my mother should be able to satisfy her curiosity. I'm not weeding the flowerpots before they arrive, so she'll at least have them to comment on...
