Jun. 23rd, 2004 09:06 amTwo days ago when I picked Fisen up, he cried. I carefully put him down again. He sometimes have problems with his leg joints, but it seemed to be different this time, no limping and when I checked him over, he seemed fine. C thought the crying was probably due to Fisen's policy to "cry first and figure out if it hurts later", but yesterday night the same thing happened. He didn't limp, but he didn't want me to touch his lower back. Worried, I went online to check for symptoms of arthritis in cats, but while I was reading, I felt a familiar set of claws digging through my jeans; Fisen telling me that he could see the bottom of his food bowl - he hates when he is able to do that. Not that he has ever starved. He seemed to perk up after that, I could hear him racing around the apartment a couple of times during the night and this morning he enjoyed a face rub, a tummy rub, a toe rub (spreading his toes) and a back rub. Right now he's dozing making little mews of pleasure.
C convinced me to let the cats sleep in the bedroom last night, because Felix was all cuddled up in the blankets when he came to bed. For once I relented. BIG MISTAKE. I had Felix taking up half my side of the bed, so that I had to lie at an angle with my toes sticking out, and when he wasn't just being heavy, he was purring and kneading the blanket with both front paws and one of his hind legs. Fisen feeling kittenish again walked all over the place; the nightstand, the cupboards...ME! I'm tired and the cats are NOT sleeping in the bedroom tonight.
Oh and on the cat topic. All the vet pages had instructions on how to figure out if your cat is in pain, because cats are very stoic about it. Guess they've never met Fisen.
Enough, I'm staring to sound like one of those little purple haired cat ladies. Yesterday we went furniture shopping. Bought a bookshelf (yay!) and a piece of TV furniture, we are also considering a bed, cupboards, garden- and office furniture. C was extremely relieved that we found something I liked. I'm telling him that he should be thrilled that he has such a choosy wife, after all that makes the fact that I chose him all the more special!
