C: *opens main door* Hello doggie!
Lia: *ignores, looks for May*
C: Lia? I'm home!
Lia: MAY! *pushes past C jump excitedly around May* I missed you!

May: *goes inside followed by dog*

C: Lia! Where's my doggie?
Lia: May! May!

C: *goes to change clothes and then to use the bathroom*

C: *Comes out from bathroom* Lia! Aren't you going to say hello?
Lia: May! May!
May: Go say hello to C.
Lia: *Runs to C, touches him with the tip of her nose and then runs back* May! May!
C: That wasn't a hello, that was a "touch" exercise!
Lia: May! May!

C: *sits down to watch TV*

May: Okay, enough cuddling, dudi. *goes to bathroom and closes door*
Lia: ..... ..... ..... C! I missed you!
C: Oh no, that's waaaay too late! I'm offended!

*nods* Some cats are like that. I've had a cat where I was his favourite and he preferred women in general. Another of my cats preferred men, and as soon as C and I moved together, C became his favourite. It didn't matter that he'd known me for 8 years and since he was 12 weeks old.
