I feel the firing itch come over me. 5 hours left for us to pay out taxes on time without punishment fees and I still haven't heard from our accountant. I can't deal with this last minute frantic rush, especially when it means getting up early on a post-injection day and stay glued to the telephone and e-mail.

Oh, and did I mention I'm so stressed about the whole thing that I just got 4 1/2 hours of sleep last night?

EDIT: 3 hours left.
EDIT: 2 hours 30 min left. I called them and they're still not finished.
EDIT: 2 hours 5 mins left. PHEW. Bill is paid, but she's cutting it close. Some banks do not transfer payments after 16:00* and I got off the phone with her at 15:53.

*Ours is not one of them, but she didn't know that.

Ouch!

I hate when financial things are done at the last minute. Does bad things to my blood pressure.

Mine too. Good thing it's in the lower end of the scale normally.

That is way too much stress. I suggest you spend the next few months looking for another accountant and asking friends what theirs is like. If yours is working to the last moment, then either she is extremely slow, or she has too many clients.

Hugs.

What happened was that the accountant that did our books last year is on maternity leave, so we got a new, inexperienced one, which for some reason was assigned our difficult book keeping.

Because she's inexperienced, she completely underestimated the time it would take to do our books, even though we had everything prepared for her, and started way too late. On top of that, she needed outside help.
