Dreams, dreams, dreams...
Jul. 31st, 2009 10:31 pmNo wonder I don't feel rested:
Last night I delivered mail by bike in a strange city with no street names, no house numbers and no names on the doors, which was very frustrating. Especially since everyone thought I was completely daft for having problems with the job.
Later, Patty from Karup insisted that I get new shoes, so I went shopping in Herning, where all the shoe shops had suddenly vanished. I decided that maybe Patty would be satisfied if I got a new T-shirt instead. While looking at T-shirts, I bumped into Kelli, who assured me that buying a T-shirt would do the trick and that she, in fact, always bought T-shirts when Patty told her to get something. I'm clearly reading too many expat blogs!
My brain saved the best for last: I robbed Nefertiti's grave! Sadly Nefertiti's head came off when I tried to hoist up her mummy through a very narrow opening - I probably should not have grabbed her by the head. I tried to stick it back on, but didn't succeed. Practical that I am, I decided that I would just have to show-case her in an upright position and balance her head on her neck. Of course that's when the guards noticed me and what followed was a wild car chase in which I used my superb Russian language skills* to get me out of trouble.

On a completely unrelated note; we have visitors from Greece, so I might be a bit quiet. Alex and Elisabeth are here with their 21 month old daughter, Danai. I'd been a bit nervous about the visit, because Lia's usually not keen on children this age, but it seems that she remembers the little one from her visit last year. She hasn't taken her eyes off Danai since they arrived and there has been doggy-kisses aplenty. Now Danai's having her bath and being put to bed and Lia's downstairs whining. It might just be puppy-loooove. Only problem is that Lia gets over excited and starts herding Danai when she runs around.
