Woman versus navigator
Aug. 19th, 2009 01:48 pmOne my way home from the hospital in Holstebro, I realized that I had forgotten to set up the navigator. Since I'm a bit unfamiliar with the route, I decide to stop at the nearest road side parking and turn it on:
May: *sets navigator for "home"
Navigator: Okay, turn here - and here - and go straight...
May: This doesn't seem right *follows instructions until she realizes that she's heading in the wrong direction*.
Navigator: You mean the hospital is not "home"?
May: Argh! No, and now I just wasted 15 minutes thanks to you. *finds a place to park, types in home address and turns around, getting back onto main road before navigator finishes loading new destination*
All is peaceful for the next 10 minutes.
Navigator: Turn right in this small village.
May: Are you sure? I thought we were supposed to go straight.
Navigator: Turn right. Turn RIGHT. TURN RIGHT!
May: Okay, okay... *turns right into residential area*
Navigator: Good girl! Now turn left onto this dead end road.
May: Right, that does it! *switches off damn thing and drives straight home without further incident*
