First of all, let me just say...HAH!

To all my dear family members who completely ridiculed me when I voiced my desire to own a metal detector: http://news.sky.com/skynews/Home/UK-News/Staffordshire-Hoard-Largest-Ever-Anglo-Saxon-Gold-Find-Unearthed-With-Metal-Detector/Article/200909415388189

And I especially like this quote: "People laugh at metal detectorists. I've had people go past and go, 'beep beep, he's after pennies'."

HAH!

It's been a while since I last had one of my action/horror dreams and I've missed them. Luckily, my brain decided to accommodate me Sunday night - only the long dry spell must have caused it to go overboard, since the dream included un-traditional vampires, un-traditional zombies, "necrophilia" (not me!), a nuclear reactor power driven galleon, Hawaii looking like Amsterdam with palm trees and of course me, but as a man resembling actor Josh Holloway, as always trying to stay alive and save others while I'm at it. There's probably a book somewhere in there.

Btw. C has refused to listen to anymore of my action/horror dreams because they give him nightmares, so dear reader, I have to unload on you.

Made pumpkin soup and naan bread yesterday. While cooking, I decided this would be the first and the last pumpkin soup I'd ever make, because chopping up the pumpkin was tedious and time-consuming. However, upon tasting it, C declared it the best soup he'd eaten in years and immediately volunteered to do all the cutting, dicing and slicing.

The naans turned out really good as well, although they did not taste exactly like genuine naan breads.

So I hereby declare the soup a cheap and tasty success! Tadaaa!
And now I either have to figure out how to roast the pumpkin seeds or throw them out.

Well, now I know what to serve you should you decide to drop by in the midst of Danish winter. :)

I think a metal detector would be great fun. Given the winter occupation of the ancient Danes, I would think there might be many a fine hoard buried in your neck of the woods.

Sorry to hear about your glasses.

Yes, I think the chances of finding something is pretty good. We have two ancient graves on the property, which the archeologist believe are a part of an old road mark system. Of course I'm not allowed to dig on the burial sites themselves, but everywhere else should be free game. :)

I saw that article, too! How cool is that?!

The alarm today was tuned to the radio on which two people were enthusiastically discussing the virtues of some form of super green tea, and the conversation worked its way into both our dreams--mine happened in the context of a library (surprise surprise) and D's took place in a lab.

Sorry about the glasses. :(
