Almost human again...
Oct. 8th, 2009 09:56 amWoke up with just a heavy head. Turns out the decision to take a day off yesterday was a good one. Light sensitivity and headache made it impossible to sit in front of the computer for very long - and I'm spoiled; C came home early from work to walk Lia and cook dinner, while I dozed on the couch or pottered around the house with my sunglasses on.
Since I couldn't work, write or return reviews, I began painting the baseframe of my "Steampunk meets Hokusai" painting. I'm still trying to get the hang of working with acrylics. They dry incredibly fast compared to oils and water-colour, even with the slow-drying agent, which I won't be using for now, since I'm not doing any detailed work. I also know that I'll be swearing once I start on the detailed work, because I'm mostly a pencil and water-colour girl, but I guess my oil pastel experience will come in handy.
The good thing about acrylics is that; yeah, I don't have to wait for paint to dry, I can cover large surfaces in a reasonable amount of time, and I don't have to be particularly careful when working, unlike with water-colours, which are quite unforgiving with mistakes.
