- watched Sex in the City - the movie. That's 1 hour 45 minutes of my life that I'm never getting back.

- ate lunch at a cheap "Chinese" buffet today. When will we ever learn? Every time we swear that we'll never do something as idiotic again and then 1-2 years later, we stumble on a new one and think, well, it can't be that bad, can it?, but of course it can! *smacks head*

- fell asleep on the couch. One minute I'm watching bio-sustainable gardening/hobby farming, the next I'm looking at naked women and porn scenes (documentary about the history of pornography in Denmark).

- cats are zonked out on my desk. I'd take a photo, but that would reveal the horrible mess I have.

I hear you on the Chinese buffet. I love Chinese food but then I am thoroughly spoilt as we have a wonderful Chinese resturaunt in town. It is not the buffet style and I think that is probably a biggie. Having the good tends to give a rosy colored view to all the others. We went to a buffet in Vancouver Island. The only thing I enjoyed out of the mess I put on my plate was two mushrooms. R was the same and we both said 'never again' and yet we do just that every so often. After all, it can't be that bad, can it? Oh yes it can.

My latest disappointment is anything with concealed meat, aka conceal fat globules and gristle. I should know better and yet I erred more than once. Now we are home we can have decent food. It wasn't all bad, to be fair. It is just that was marginally ok was also mixed up with surprising sides. I don't happen to think a rack of lamb ribs goes well with sliced potatoes covered with cheddar cheese when the menu said baby new potatoes. I got rather tired of these last minute subs.

There's something about the combination cheese and lamb that just sounds vile. :p

The lamb ribs were supposed to come with new potatoes and peas. I was somewhat astonished to be presented with the cheese and potato mess and it was decorated with five boiled cherry tomatoes, which also don't go with lamb very well. No gravy of course, because a person wouldn't want gravy with cheesy potatoes and boiled tomatoes, would they? They might have wanted it with new potatoes and peas, though, so quick, let's hide those and pretend we don't have any.

I had already discovered it wasn't worth complaining when I was served a cauliflower and cheese pie, (blurk), at another place instead of what I ordered. I waited forty minutes for the replacement, which was three degrees off stone cold. It was mostly congealed fat and gristle, so I didn't eat it anyway.

I've given up worrying about the mess on my desk (except that I did take a foot-high pile of books and knitting off it yesterday. It's a good spot for photos of works-in-progress on the needles or hook, so I try to frame out the worst and ignore the rest.

No one has said anything to me like "what is that mess next to that blue yarn?" lately, so I guess it's not as bad as I think.

*lol*
C hasn't mentioned the state of my desk lately, but I suspect that's because his desk doesn't look to good at the moment either.
