Not so brave yet...
Nov. 11th, 2009 02:59 pmA couple of days ago, I mentioned to C that Lia had started protecting as well as guarding, no longer hiding behind my legs when face to face with a potential threat. Apparently I spoke too soon:
01:00
Lia: RED ALERT! RED ALERT! INTRUDER! INTRUDER!
May: *staggers out of bed, wrapping blanket around her*
Lia: GROWWWWWWWLLLLL! WOOOF! WOOF! GROOOOOWWWWLLL!
May: *peers through windows in front door* I don't see anything.
Lia: INTRUDER!
May: *looks veeery closely* There's nothing out there.
Lia: GROOOOWWWWLLL! INTRUDER!
May: Why don't you go out and see for yourself then. *unlocks door and opens it*
Lia: *leaps out growling and abruptly stops on the front stairs to look back* You're not coming with me?
May: It's freezing cold outside and I'm not dressed.
Lia: Oookay...hmmm...well, maybe I was mistaken. *runs inside again*

Date: 2009-11-12 12:49 am (UTC)I have a guard cat, as it turns out. She likes to warn us EVERY TIME a bird lands in the front yard, or in a tree, or across the street. Or any time she finds a beetle, or a moth, or an ant. If I didn't know any better I'd be thinking she needed to cut down on the coffee...
