Belgian Shepherd Dog - Groenendael
Nov. 13th, 2009 05:49 pmTaken from Dog Breed Info Center:
"The Belgian Shepherd is high energy, with a high mental capacity, and are quick to comprehend. They need a job to do, especially if you are dealing with working lines. Take care when introducing this dog with small non-canine pets. "
And this is the reason why:
May sits in living room listening to Lia and Orlando play in the hallway.
Lia: Bwhahahaha!
Orlando: Okay that does it! *WHACKS*
Lia: YELP!
May: Uh-oh. *braces self*
Lia: *RUNS away from Orlando into living room. Takes off and leaps over the corner of the coffeetable and lands in May's lap*
May: OOOOOOHHHHMMMPPPPP! *checks for cracked ribs* Must you really do this everytime you get a whacking?
Lia: Orlando is mean and dangerous!

Date: 2009-11-13 05:14 pm (UTC)The first one we had is the only one we had from a puppy. We'd had the cat Sylvester for about a month or two and we had him from kitten too, so he wasn't even remotely fully grown at the time. And he was still bigger (well, taller over the shoulder) than Kassie. I was sitting on the floor when they were first introduced. Sylvester said, "meow?" and Kassie said, "EEEEKK!!! O.o" and I suddenly had a terrified puppy in my lap.
(She took her revenge over him many many many times in the following six years though.)

Reminds me of the time I got Aqui. My Maine Coon, Tyksen (yes, I know), was also bigger than her at that time and Aqui had never seen cats before and was a bit weary of them plus they had a no-nonsense attitude towards her.
Then one day, she was lying next to Tyksen and he put his paw on her paw. Startled she yanked it back. He did it again, she yanked back the paw, he did it again. Then she started thinking that it was actually a fun game, so she put her paw on his paw. Big mistake. :p

Date: 2009-11-14 03:55 pm (UTC)I'm fine, I actually think I might be building some rib-crushing resistance. Evolution, survival of the fittest and all that. :p
