May: Calls hotel booking telephone number directly and explains the situation.

Hotel guy: No, problem, just send us an e-mail with your booking details and we'll send you a confirmation.

May: okay *wonders why she couldn't just give him the details on the phone?*

May: *writes e-mail*

*Gets a reply that lists the price of the room (which I had already written in my e-mail) and to contact them by telephone if I am interested in booking it.* O_O

2) We had the same thing happen to us while traveling. Sooooo annoying, especially when you are working under a deadline, so to speak, with spotty, hard-to-find Internet connections.
