I have stopped doing New Year's resolutions. With them, January would be a month of rigid self-enforced discipline and February a month of self-defeat when I realize that there is no way I'll be able to keep those resolutions. Instead I prefer to wake up to each new day and do my best with what I've got.

This, of course, doesn't mean that we cannot take a look back at the New Year's resolutions past:

Age ca. 8 - To marry a millionaire when I grow up and own a video machine
Age ca. 10 - To save all my pocket money and buy a pair of binoculars (I managed, after months and months of saving)
Age ca. 11 - A kitty or a doggie! (of course with my mother I had as much chance of that as of winning the lottery)
Age ca. 14 - To get rid of those pimples!
Age 15 - To get rid of those pimples and get a boyfriend (managed the boyfriend part)
Age 16 - To get rid of those pimples! (No boyfriend anymore, my own fault)
Age 17 - To get rid of those pimples! (Started dating my ex on my 17th birthday)
Age 18 - Get into university (Managed that)
Age 19-20 Make relationship work.
Age 21-22 Make relationship work or end it.
Age 23-24 Get out of this relationship (Yes, I finally did it, although he was in denial for a year)
Age 25 - Be happy. (I was - very happy)
Age 26-27 - Get C (he was a difficult one to haul in)
Age 28 - Get C (Got 'im! However by then I'd stopped hauling and he came swimming all by himself :) )
Age 29+ Finish book and send out (Well, we all know how that went eh?)
